On the record:
Each week we interview our DJ of the week! Check out their responses here!
Tell us about your show:
Our show combines two of our favorite things: music and movies. We want to dissect how different movies use their soundtrack to tell a story along with the images on the screen. Throughout the semester, we aim to look at a handful of movies and explore entire genres, franchises, and styles, examining the varied ways filmmakers utilize music.
Weird/Fun fact:
I competed in a hot dog-eating contest on live television last summer as part of my internship! - Jack
I wrote my college application for Colgate about Dj-ing and music! - Ava
If you were a music genre what would you be and why?
A combination between Lana Del Ray dreamy pop and contemporary R&B - the sounds are my favorite and I love a good electric guitar. - Ava
I'd say folk rock because it ebbs and flows through upbeat, hopeful tunes and introspective storytelling.
- Jack
What’s your favorite part of being a part of wrcu?
I love having this creative outlet where I can talk about two things I love and share them with some of my closest friends. - Jack
I love the programming aspect and creating a concept for the show. I feel like its one of the only times at Colgate I get to be creative and actually do something with my ideas. - Ava
